Subject of commemoration: Maltese ox (il-gendus Malti)
Description of the design: The design shows a rendition of the Maltese ox. The coin raises awareness of one of Malta’s indigenous breeds which is endangered. At the top, in semi-circle, is the inscription “IL-GENDUS MALTI”. At the bottom is the name of the issuing country “MALTA” and underneath is the year of issuance “2025”. At the bottom right are the initials of the designer “MAF” (Maria Anna Frisone).
The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
