Subject of commemoration: Sustainable development
Description of the design: The design shows a representation of planet Earth that is surrounded by the legend “Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Sustainable Development)”; on the left and upper edges, a branch-like row of 17 sets of leaves arranged in a triangle suggesting the universal recycling symbol, in a reference to the 17 Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; on the lower and right edges the legend «Portugal», the national coat of arms of Portugal, the era, and the mintmark “Casa da Moeda” above the name of the designer.
The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
