Subject of commemoration: Maltese prehistoric temples of Tarxien (of the series UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Description of the design: The design depicts a detail of the prehistoric structure. At the top is the inscription ‘TARXIEN TEMPLES 3600-2500 BC’. At the bottom is the name of the issuing country ‘MALTA’ and underneath it is the year of issuance ‘2021’.
The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
